2016-2017

For the 2016-2017 financial year the school received £9555 under the Sport and Healthy Lifestyle initiative.

From this money the school has bought back into the Local Authority’s Service Level Agreement. Under this SLA children in school receive coaching from a specialist PE teacher, enabling their teachers to receive training to improve their own teaching of PE at the same time. This will impact on the quality of future teaching and learning in school.

The SLA also enables our school to participate in a number of competitions in the local area. During the spring term 2016 we have competed in Quicksticks hockey, reaching the regional finals, and the Sportshall athletics competition, finishing 5th out of 12 schools from Stockport. PE Premium money has covered the cost of transport to and from these events.

In addition coaches from Change 4 Life visit school and carry out activities with the children in PE lessons. This will impact on an increased fitness and participation level in sport.

The PE equipment in the school hall has been checked for its fitness for purpose from this money and replacement equipment has been purchased as necessary. This will ensure that all the children in school have appropriate and adequate equipment to use in gymnastics lessons.
