Sporting achievements
Six of our children represented Stockport at Quicksticks Hockey at the Greater Manchester Games last Tuesday. Although they were not placed they tried extremely hard and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Congratulations to Will, AJ, Robert, Freya, Carla and Olivia.
Finley in Y6W ran as part of the Stockport team in the Greater Manchester Cross-Country championships on Saturday. Stockport finished 2nd overall with Finley finishing 33rd out of 102 runners. Congratulations for an amazing performance.
Amelia in Y5EP took part in the Open Individual Kata under 7th Qui Beginners competition in Blackpool on Saturday. Having won it she is now the National Champion for that category of karate. Huge congratulations!

Nevill Road App
The new school App has been running for a couple of weeks now and thank you to those parents who have downloaded it. We have and will be sending out newsletters, reminders, letters and updates to your phones via the app. We will continue to send paper copies of the newsletter out until the Easter break but will not send any beyond this point. If, however, you do not have a smart phone you are able to request for a paper copy to still be sent home via your child by emailing the School Office on
anna.dodd@nevillroad-jun.stockport.sch.uk.
You can download the app by searching for ‘Nevill Road Schools’ and download the app that displays our school logo. When downloading it is important that you select ‘Yes’ for all options in particular push notifications.

Miss Roberts
Our congratulations go to Miss Roberts who is getting married during the school holidays. When she returns in the summer term she will be Mrs Rutherford. We hope she has a fantastic day and look forward to seeing all the pictures.

Dealing with Food Issues
Do you have problems with your child over eating, having aversions to certain foods or showing sensory issues towards food? If so feel free to come along to “The Grove Bar”, 399-401 London Road, Hazel Grove, SK7 6AA on Thursday 5th May between 11am and 1pm. Cheryl from the ASD team will be there to chat to families about how to manage these issues. All welcome no matter what diagnosis. Children are welcome too.

Minecraft
Two minecraft books have been found in the playground, which can be reclaimed from the school office.

Attendance and office times
Please remember that school starts at 8:50am with registers closing at 9am. Any child who arrives after 9am will have that session marked as an “unauthorised absence” and this WILL impact on their overall attendance figure for the term. The office staff work from 8:30am until 4pm (3:30pm on a Friday) and there is an answerphone at all other times so that you can leave a message regarding any absences.

Leave of Absence
Please remember that any requests for leave of absence should be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the start date. Leave of absence will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

Can you help? Are you an accountant? Do you know one?
Do you know an accountant who would be able to audit our school fund for us? If so please contact the office for further information and/or to offer services. Up until this year Mrs Middleton’s husband provided this service for us, but now that she has left we need to find a replacement. Many thanks.

Friends of Nevill Road – dates of events
April 1st – celebration discos – details to follow
April 21st – meeting at the Governors pub 8pm

Best wishes,

Miss Sheila Harrison
