Newsletter week beginning 16/06/14

The following children were presented with certificates in assembly this morning:

Y6H – Niamh D for always having a sunny outlook and approaching challenges with positivity.
Y6H – Alex for consistently being helpful and reliable and a pleasure to have in the class.
Y6R – Joe B for working hard during the World Cup maths activity and helping the other children in his group.
Y6R – Tianna for always coming in to class prepared and ready for the day and working hard at all times.
Y5C – Kyle for working more independently in Literacy.
Y5C – Hannah for improving the punctuation in her writing.
Y5K – Megan for showing great resilience last half term and for her fantastic application to be an astronaut.
Y5K – Daniel McC for showing great determination to improve his writing and having a great attitude towards learning.
Y5W – Ben H for making real improvements in his writing by following the success criteria, trying new things and focussing on his targets.
Y5W – Luke for writing a fantastic application to be an astronaut using great connectives and sharing all his skills.
Y4J – Amelia C for writing a super persuasive advert, thinking carefully about all her targets.
Y4J – Will for working really hard to understand decimal numbers this week.
Y4L – Hannah J for writing a fantastic detailed description of her Roman villa and for helping others with their descriptions.
Y4L – Christopher for amazing artwork using the Brazilian artist Romero Britto as inspiration.
Y4N – Jake H for trying his best in Literacy and sharing his amazing ideas.
Y4N – Faith for making a positive return to school after the holidays.
Y3LW – Izzy B for her wonderful information book all about Brazil.
Y3LW – James for his wonderful book all about animals that live in Brazil.
Y3M – Connor B for being kind, thoughtful and considerate to other members of the class.
Y3M – Fin for working really hard in Maths, focussing and not giving up.
Y3P – James for always trying his best and showing an excellent attitude to learning.
Y3P – Abigail for always being ready to learn and working hard to achieve her goals.

House Points

Y5W: Ben G (200); Jessica, Charlie and Millie (300)

Well done to classes Y4N and Y5W who both had 100% attendance last week.
If your child is not in school for any reason, please phone the school office to let us know. The answer machine is on from 4:00pm until 8:30am so it is always possible to leave a message.

Morning Registration – Late Arrival into School
School opens at 8.50 am and registration closes at 9 am. If your child arrives into school late they MUST report to the School Office to be signed in by the Office Staff.

If you have any donations of good quality school uniform for the Summer Fair second hand uniform stall, please send it in to school. Thank you.

Staff absences
Unfortunately we have a number of staff who are not in school at the moment.
Both Mrs Humphreys and Mrs Pratt have had fairly major operations and will be absent until the next academic year. We wish them both a speedy recovery. Their classes are being covered by Mr Donaldson and Mr Bowers respectively and both have spent time in class with the teachers before they left.

Mr Cardwell is off sick this week and his class is being covered by Mr Bailey.

If you have any issues at all please contact class teachers in the first instance, followed by phase leaders (Mr Kinnear for Years 5 and 6; Mrs Jordan for Years 3 and 4) and then either Mrs Jordan (Deputy Head) or me.

School Dinners
Please note that dinners have increased to £2.05 (£10.25 per week) from Monday 9th June 2014. We are currently owed £304.90 for unpaid dinners. Dinners must be ordered and paid for in advance on Monday mornings. Thank you.
