There can only be one place to start this week and that is with last Friday’s efforts for Red Nose Day!!!
Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored the children to dance, sold items after school or donated having watched the staff video of Uptown Funk. We are all delighted to have made it on to national TV!!!!
The atmosphere in school on Friday was fantastic. I would like to personally and publicly thank Mrs Dale for coming up with the video idea, Mrs Sheldrake for choreographing the routine and all the staff who gave enormous amounts of time and energy to come up with the final product. However, we wouldn’t have got anywhere without the work of our parents, Mr Jacob and Mr Armstrong, in recording and putting together the whole video. So a huge thanks to them too.
At present I do not have a final figure for you but this morning the amount raised via our just giving page was £1385. The Friends of Nevill Road raised £270.86 from their coffee morning, cake sale and sweepstake with a further £72.50 being raised from cake sales after school on the junior playground.
In addition we banked £197 on Friday morning and have so far collected £1212.31 in cash. We will make donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Stepping Hill Intensive Care from the cash donations.
Once I have a final amount I will let you know. Many thanks to everyone for this amazing effort
Year 3 Residential
Thank you to everyone who has paid their deposits for the Year 3 trip. We will be letting the centre know our final numbers this week so that we can make arrangements for groups and rooms. The Year 3 staff will be in touch with details before the end of term. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Year 5 play
The Year 5 staff will hold their play performances on Wednesday 25th March at 2:15pm and 7pm.
Due to the growing numbers in school we will now have to put a restriction on numbers for performances in the hall (Health & Safety and Fire regulations), therefore children will be limited to 2 tickets for each performance. These will not cost anything but we would ask that you return any tickets to school that you do not wish to use. These will then be available on a first come first served basis.

Well done to Mr Cardwell’s class, Y5C, for having the best attendance last week with 99.5%.
Attendance still seems to be down at present. Please remember to contact the school office if your child will not be in school. Staff work there from 8:30am until 4pm (Monday-Thursday) or 3:30pm (Friday). There is an answerphone for when the staff are not there and if you leave a message we will get back to you.
