Y3 residential trip
There will be a meeting at 6pm on Wednesday 4th March for parents of children in Year 3.
This year we have decided to introduce a one night residential for the children and on this occasion it will be linked to their current topic on “The Stone Age to The Iron Age”. The children will be visiting Laches Wood Outdoor Education Centre, just north of Wolverhampton, and following the “Twilight Experience”.
Half the year group will depart on Monday 20th April and return on Tuesday 21st; while the other half will depart on Tuesday 21st and return on Wednesday 22nd. We will split each of the classes in half as this will give the children a further opportunity to mix with peers in their year group prior to us setting up the new classes for Year 4.
If you are unable to attend the meeting we will send the relevant information and paperwork home to you.
Healthy Eating and Birthday treats
As you are aware we are currently trying to develop a healthier attitude towards food and exercise.
The results from the survey that we sent out still need to be finalised so that we can develop an action plan to move forward but there have been some excellent suggestions that we are starting to implement.
If there are any other parents who would like to be involved in a small working party then please contact the school office with your details.
In line with this healthier approach, and as stated in the school prospectus, we do not allow sweets in school. There have been a couple of instances recently of children bringing in sweets on their birthday to hand out to the other children in their class. Please do not send in any sweets in future.
There may be children with allergies or whose parents do not wish their child to be eating these sweets and we do try to respect the wishes of all. Thank you.

Well done to Miss Smith’s’ class, Y4S, for having the best attendance last week with 98.9%.
Attendance seems to be down at present, largely due to the number of bugs going around. Please remember to contact the school office if your child will not be in school. Staff work there from 8:30am until 4pm (Monday-Thursday) or 3:30pm (Friday). There is an answerphone for when the staff are not there and if you leave a message we will get back to you.
