PE kit
Please try to ensure that your child has their PE kit in school with them at all times. At this time of year it is vital that they have sweatshirts, trainers and tracksuit bottoms so that they are able to participate fully when the class is outside. We also suggest that your child brings in a small towel and a plastic bag for wet/muddy clothes. If you are unsure as to what day your child does PE please contact their class teacher.

Bikeability – Year 5
There are still a few places left for the Year 5 Bikeability training on 25-27 April. If your child would like to take part, please complete the form sent out on 18th January. Copies are available from the School Office.

Building work over the entrance
Unfortunately it is necessary to have some additional work done to the parapet wall over the main entrance.
As the brickwork will take the best part of a week it will be completed over half term. However the scaffolding needs to be erected on Saturday 6th February. There will be all the appropriate safety boarding and the main entrance will still be accessible but anyone attending the sports club over half term will be directed to the entrance at the side of school, as work will have commenced then.

World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book day on Friday 4th March, rather than Thursday 3rd. We would be delighted if the children come dressed as a book character. Further information will follow nearer the time.

Attendance and office times
Please remember that school starts at 8:50am with registers closing at 9am. Any child who arrives after 9am will have that session marked as an “unauthorised absence” and this WILL impact on their overall attendance figure for the term. The office staff work from 8:30am until 4pm (3:30pm on a Friday) and there is an answerphone at all other times so that you can leave a message regarding any absences.

Leave of Absence
Please remember that any requests for leave of absence should be made at least 2 weeks in advance of the start date. Leave of absence will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.

Friends of Nevill Road – dates of events
Wednesday 3rd Feb – AGM 7pm at the Junior school.
