Parent Newsletter 5 – Autumn Term 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all enjoyed the half term week. As you may have heard from the children, there have been some exciting changes which have taken place over the holiday. Thank you to everyone who has helped raise money for the hall refurbishments and those of you who have given up your time to decorate at the weekends. Lee Sayer’s art work is stunning and we are delighted that he will be working with the children on future projects.

Playground update

You may also have noticed that a few holes have appeared in the playground! These have been made in order for engineers to assess the extent of the work that needs to take place. I will keep you informed of any updates and future plans regarding repairs to the playground.

We are delighted to announce that Mrs Rutherford has had her new arrival, baby Thea. She weighed in at a tiny 4lb 9oz but both Mum and daughter are thriving. There is something in the air at Nevill Road Juniors as we have another baby on the way….Miss Dean is very pleased to be welcoming her baby in to the world, early next year. We have managed to appoint two lovely teachers to cover the maternity leavers, who will be coming in to school to meet the children and parents very soon.

Creative Homework

I have been shown some fantastic pieces of creative homework over the past few weeks including an Egyptian Pharaoh cake, Ancient Greek helmets and a super powerpoint all about Space. It is lovely to see how children use their imaginations in such different ways.
