Parent Newsletter 4 – Autumn Term 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for all the positive comments and support that you have showed towards myself and the staff during this half term. We have been working hard to make further improvements to the school and whilst there is still plenty to do we appreciate that this is being noticed

Staying Safe

As bonfire night approaches, we will be taking part in the Big First Aid Day run by St Johns Ambulance, on Friday 3rd December. You can find more information on how to keep your children safe during this time at www.bonfire-night-safety.co.uk

Parent Meetings

Parent meetings are taking place on Monday 6th November (4.00 – 6.00pm) and Wednesday

8th November (4.00 – 7.00pm). Please return the forms as soon as you can to ensure you are given the time slot that you require.

Lunchtime and After School Clubs

Attached is a list of clubs that will be taking place next half term. If you would like to help with a club, please leave your details with the office team.

14th Annual National Conference – ‘Autism a Hands on Approach’,

The conference will take place on Tuesday 14th November 2017 at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. For further details please contact Tanya Farley on 07966 399709 or email autism.ahandsonapproach@gmail.com

Lates

This term we have reviewed procedures to monitor attendance and punctuality, in line with Stockport’s Local Authority policy. It is so important that children come to school every day, on time, to ensure that they do not miss out on any valuable learning. From after half term, we would also like all children to come into school through the playground doors and not the main entrance, thank you.

Sport at Nevill Road Juniors

There have been so many sporting achievements this half term that we have produced a separate newsletter for Sport. We are all extremely proud of the children that have taken part and represented the school so beautifully.

Children in Need

This event will take place on Friday 17th November in both the Infant and Junior schools. The theme is 80’s and Spots so you may want to start looking out for ra ra skirts and leg warmers! Please remember to bring £1 if your child wishes to dress up as we are trying to beat the total made last year. There will be other activities taking place on the day and merchandise which can also be purchased for a small amount. We will keep you informed of more details after half term.

I hope you all enjoy the half term week.

Kind Regards

Judi Cliff, Headteacher, Nevill Road Junior School
