Parent Newsletter 7 – Autumn Term 2017

1st December 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,
I am very pleased to announce that we raised £617.80 for Children in Need. The children thoroughly enjoyed all the activities that took place and they looked fantastic. A huge thank you for all your support for such an important cause. A particular thank you goes to Mrs Rossiter-Wilkinson for bravely walking to school dressed up as Big Bird. She raised £50 as a result!
Restorative Approaches
Nevill Road Junior School has been identified as a Restorative Approach Showcase School in Stockport, for the quality circle times that are delivered weekly to the children. This term we have been focussing on ‘Respect for all’ which is promoted through the class respect points and weekly raffle ticket draw. Next term staff will be receiving more training to look at further ways to support children when there has been a fall out.
Middays needed!
We are looking to extend our already fantastic midday team so that we can provide a larger range of activities for the children to take part in during lunchtimes. If you are interested or know of someone who would like to help us out, please contact the office.
Design technology workshops
On Monday and Wednesday of this week, Y5 and 6 took part in a design technology day where they all created their own hydraulic masks. The staff were extremely impressed with the way they all worked together and supported each other. New skills were learnt and the end products look amazing.
Christmas doors
Christmas has officially arrived as there has been a transformation around school. Every class has been working very hard to design and create their own Christmas doors. The School Council will be choosing the winners next week.
