Parent Newsletter 8 – Autumn Term 2017
12th December 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,
Many thanks to all of you who were able to attend and help out at this year’s Christmas Fair. It was lovely to be able to see so many families from both schools. We will be selling the last Christmas puddings, sweets and mince pies on Tuesday 19th in the school hall from 3.30pm – 4.00pm.
Both the Year 3s and Year 4s have been working extremely hard over the last couple of weeks to rehearse and perform their Christmas Shows. They were absolute super stars and we are so proud of them all. Everyone left feeling much more Christmassy!
Lunchtime and after school clubs
We are very pleased to be able to offer an increasing range of clubs for all our children. (See the attached list). If you would be interested in helping out with a club, please leave your details with the office staff.
After Christmas Miss Gaffney will be joining the Year 4 team as the third class teacher. We also welcome Miss Casey who will be supporting children in Year 5. Sadly, Mrs Bruce is leaving us as she is working full time at the Infants but we know she won’t be far away if we need her! Miss Arrowsmith has taken up a part time post nearer to home and we wish her and her family all the best.
And the winners are…….in third place….Miss Kershaw’s class! In second place….the office staff (Mrs Bruce). In first place……Mr Elias’s class. Well done to all the children and staff who have come up with such imaginative ideas and helped to make the school feel extremely festive. I think this will now become an annual event at the Nevill Road Schools!
Keeping our children safe
Within school we do a lot of work to ensure that children know how to keep themselves safe by ensuring they do not give out personal information to strangers. It is unfortunate that we have been informed that some children’s names have been mentioned through social media apps which is a data protection breach. If you have any concerns regarding school, please speak to myself or a member of the Senior Leadership Team so that problems can be resolved quickly and effectively.
Finally I would like thank you once again for the overwhelming support that I have received from you all during my first term at Nevill Road Juniors. It is an absolute privilege to be the Headteacher of such a vibrant and happy school. I wish you a very Happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year
